Hi, I’m Yinyin

— a scientist by training, an artist at heart, and a storyteller in everything I do.

With a PhD in Natural Sciences from ETH Zürich, I’ve spent years immersed in the world of microbiology, exploring the unseen patterns that shape life. But beyond the microscope and lab, I’ve always been drawn to the art of visual storytelling — whether through delicately designed presentation slides, infographics, web interfaces, the lens of my camera, or the frame of a film.

Today, I’m building a bridge between these two worlds: science and art. As I transition into the field of communication and content design, my goal is to craft clear, compelling narratives that make complex ideas accessible and meaningful. I believe thoughtful design and powerful visuals can bring science to life, spark curiosity, and connect people in new ways.

This website is a reflection of that ongoing journey. Here, you’ll find a mix of my professional work in science communication and content creation alongside personal projects in photography, filmmaking, interface design, and music. As a classically trained violinist (and a cello novice ^-^), music has always been an essential part of my life — shaping the way I think about rhythm, emotion, and storytelling. It’s this interplay between analytical thinking and creative intuition that drives my work, and where I continue exploring how design can tell stories that matter.
